Grandma & Grandpa are coming from Montana on Saturday! (7/19)
Auntie Becky & Uncle Tony are also coming on Saturday! (7/19)
=a lot of cleaning & organizing to do! Maybe we will even decorate & hang our pictures on the wall...maybe!
McKynzie gets baptized on Sunday! (7/20)
=a lot of decorations & present making/crafts are to be prepped & done...with very little motivation to do so! Ugh...& grocery shopping.
We start our "Countdown to Monterey" project on Wednesday! (7/16) (Details to come!)
=more craft prep...with an active, busy, stubborn, potty-training & independent toddler.
We also have other various errands to run...and all this can easily become overwhelming (especially since it's 106 degrees out most of the week....) but I know it will all be ok, because it always is in the end!
This past weekend we had the opportunity to have our nephew spend the night, and it was McKynzie's very first sleepover! We played outside, had a hotdog BBQ & a movie & ice cream sundaes for dessert/snack! Perfect night!
The next day, Ryan's brother & sister in law retuned the favor & took McKynzie for the whole day, which left Ryan & I kidless for about 8 hours. Although it was nice to be without McKynzie, it was hard to come up with something to do! This was a big step for me to let McKynzie go for awhile & I missed her a lot. But it was all worth it at the end of the day, upon her arrival home when she came & cuddled with me and told me "Mama, I miss you". (And for those of you who are wondering what Ryan & I ended up doing...we went to breakfast & came home and took a nap. Best.Afternoon.Ever! We also ended out the afternoon with appetizers & margaritas...an afternoon well spent with soundless sleeping & with toddler free, hot meals! So thank you Nick & Vanessa! We appreciated it.
Well, it's getting close to my bedtime & bedtime stories are calling my name!...or is that McKynzie? :-)
Good night, sweet dreams. Remember, days can be long, challenging & overwhelming at times, but take time out to enjoy the simple things. Whether that is taking a kid free nap, eating a toddler-free hot meal, or simply reading a bedtime story. You will never get today back, so make the best of it & live like there's no tomorrow.
Love,
Brittany, Ryan & McKynzie
